Get to know our newest team member Dr. Priscilla Giler

For the past month and a half, we’ve had the pleasure of getting to know our newest team member, and we think it’s time for our patients and the Sound community to get to know her too. Take a moment to meet our newest “AuD-ball” and learn a little more about the person behind the title!

Describe your role at Sound.

I am a clinical audiologist, and I love seeing all ages, from brand-new newborns to my favorite 100-year-old children. No two days are the same.

Describe yourself in 3-words.

Empathetic, Curious, Silly

What’s your favorite part of the job?

My favorite part of the job is putting the clues together. Every appointment is a little mystery, and figuring out what's going on with someone's hearing system feels like playing detective.

What led you to working at Sound?

Sound's reputation came first, then a mutual connection sealed it. And honestly? The clinic is so beautiful and our team is the best!

What’s something about you that not many people know?

Something not many people know is that I make up silly songs at home and perform them for an audience of one (my toddler).  I've also recently taken up the ukulele, so soon those songs will have musical accompaniment.

What is one of the things you would put on your “bucket” list?

Pack up the whole family and travel the world—not just a vacation, but an extended stay, soaking it all in, one country at a time.

Where are we most likely to find you when not at work?

You’ll find me at a local park or at dance practice. Preferably in that order, and ideally with snacks.

Before working at Sound what was the most unusual or crazy job you had?

It has to be Home Depot during college. I knew absolutely nothing about tools, hardware, or anything on those shelves and came home every day sweaty and dusty to prove it. The one bright spot? The garden section. Though I should mention I don't have a green thumb either.

Anything else fun to share?

My comfort reads are the Harry Potter series and yes, I am a true millennial about it. There was a HP reading at my wedding, a Harry Potter-themed baby shower, and more birthdays than I can count celebrated in that spirit.

Welcome to the team Priscilla! If you see her around the clinic, be sure to say hello. We know you’ll love getting to know her as much as we have!
