In-Network Provider

Sound Speech and Hearing Clinic is a participating provider with:

  • Blue Shield of California PPO plans (not including Covered California)

  • Cigna PPO Plans

  • Medicare (Audiology only)

  • California Department of Rehabilitation (Audiology only)

We do advise that you check with your individual plan regarding specific coverage for speech, language, hearing, and auditory processing services.

Out-of-Network Reimbursement

If your insurance provider is not listed above, we will collect your payment at the time of service. We will then provide you with a medical superbill. The superbill is a standard form which health plans use to process claims. It lists the codes that insurance carriers require to process your claim. This includes a numerical code representing the diagnosis (ICD-10) code and procedure (CPT) codes to describe the visit type. You submit your superbill to your insurer for reimbursement.

Looking for assistance with this process? we recommend using the app Reimbursify - just upload the superbills along with your insurance information, and their team will help file your claim and handle any issues. Our office does not guarantee any form of reimbursement from your insurance company. In addition, your insurance carrier may not reimburse the full amount for services provided by our office.

Will I be covered?

We are happy to provide you with the pricing and CPT codes that will be used for your assessment or treatment sessions, to help you determine if services will be covered for both in-network and out-of-network insurance providers. Contact us to obtain the codes to help determine what speech-language and audiology costs will be with your insurance plan.

Hearing Instruments

Sound Speech and Hearing Clinic participates in the following hearing instrument insurance plans:

  • TruHearing

  • Your Hearing Network

Check with your private insurance plan to see if you have participation in either TruHearing or Your Hearing Network. Few private insurance plans offer coverage for hearing instruments or accessories (something that our field is advocating to change!) but we advise you to check your individual plan. Also please be advised that while Medicare covers an audiologic evaluation (hearing test) Medicare does not cover purchase of hearing instruments.
